Journaling For Transformation
Journaling allows you to work out the issues you face in life by connecting you to your inner wisdom.
Writing in a personal journal slows you down, and gives you a way to be present to yourself.
More than anything, journaling connects you to your own true voice
Whether you are new to journaling or are returning to it, here are some ideas to help you get the most from time spent with your own journal.
Step 1) BeginSet a deadline (48 hours at most) to
choose a vehicle and begin your journaling.
Step 2) Create A Safe Space Give yourself the gift of privacy for your daily written conversation with yourself. Knowing that you will be the only one to see it allows you to more freely access all the different parts of yourself. Step 3) Give Yourself Permission To be Completely Honest Write from your heart, not from your head. Instead of creating a daily record of events, write about how you feel. Trust that there is wisdom within you that will speak to you through what you write, if you are honest with yourself about how you feel.
Here are some ways to journal for empowerment.
Step 4) Give Yourself The Gift Of Consistent, Daily Time With Your Journal This is actually the same as committing to a relationship with yourself. Consider creating a morning ritual, using the same time and same place every day for journal-writing. You might also want to write on-the-go, using the journaling process to help you resolve issues that occur while you are away from home. Step 5) Experiment Until You Find The Style That's Right For You You might like to write "morning-pages" style, or you might choose to use
prompts
or quotes.
